Christ is at the core of our co-op, and making time for intentional Bible instruction is an important part of who we are as a co-op. This year the students will be studying the book of Genesis.
Our electives are designed to allow students to experience new subjects or dig deeper into interests they already enjoy.
We offer social studies, science, and grammar/spelling enrichment. Our curriculum is hands-on, engaging, and honoring to God.
Elective offerings 2024/2025
The structure of our electives is for each student to pick 2 of 4 elective options per quarter. The options will rotate every quarter so the student will take a total of 8 electives for the year.
Academic classes 2024/2025
Social Studies: America and Its Government
In America and Its Government the kids will explore through hands-on activities the structure of the U.S. government, American symbols/landmarks, and basic U.S. Geography. The curriculum will be customized to the levels of each grade.
Science: Plants and Where They Live
In Plants and Where They Live the kids will dive into the fascinating world of botany and ecology using The Good and The Beautiful curriculum.
Grammar and Spelling Enrichment
In Grammar and Spelling the kids will review grade-level grammar through interactive notebooks. They will also play spelling games and do fun activities to learn the spelling rules. This is not meant to be a full grammar and spelling curriculum, but more of a support for your home instruction.
The Binder!
Something we find important at The Gathering is helping kids develop skills to make them successful lifelong learners. A key component of this is building organizational skills. To help keep kids organized and teach them organizational skills, we will provide all curriculum for Science, Bible, Social Studies, and Grammar/Spelling support. in a binder for students. Having everyone use the same organizational system will enable teachers to strengthen students' organizational skills.
No other curriculum will be needed!
